Bannatyne’s Spa Hotel HastingsScott / Hotels, Life / 0 Comments
Every once in a while you need a break, to unwind and take time out. I find on your days off from work you try a relax but you can’t at home, there is always something to do. Cooking, housework, shopping or even out in the garden.
Dont get me wrong, I love being at home. But to have that all time chill out with no housework or cooking you just need to get away, even if it is only for 24 hrs.
Now if you live in the South East there is a little gem just waiting to be discovered tucked away in Hastings. Bannatynes Spa Hotel . This is an AA 4 Star Hotel with all the offerings you will ever need all in one place. Its Hastings little touch of magic.
When you visit a place like this for the first time you always wonder ‘what’s it like’ and I alway find first impressions count as soon as you see the place you are paying to stay, and this place does not fail to impress.
While driving along Battle Road in Hastings you come to a roundabout where the entrance is to the grounds to which has two very large gates and walls either side.
You drive up the very large drive which then splits off in a few directions, one road takes you to the very large Bannatynes Spa & Gym which has been built in the grounds. Another road takes you to a golf course, I also noticed a road taking you to some riding stables. Then you have a road taking you up to the Hotel
All this is set in 38 acres of formal gardens and woodland, to which when you walk around the grounds you will find its a wonderful haven of trees and planting with lots of places to sit and enjoy.
Once we entered the main door at the front of the hotel we was welcomed by the reception team straight away, normal check in is around 3pm so to ensure your room is ready but we arrived at 12:45pm as we had a spa treatment book for 2pm. The receptionist was very nice, friendly and welcoming I did say why we was early, I was told that was not a problem and that she would check with house keeping to see if our room was ready, with in 5 mins we had checked in and our room was ready for us.
Once we was checked in we wanted some lunch before our spa treatment. We were then shown to the bar area.
It was lunchtime but it was not over busy, mainly customers having business meetings over lunch. We found a nice spot to sit over looking the Gardens. The lunch menu was full of so much choice and at a price that would surprise many people. I’m not going to say its really cheap and I don’t really want to say that, but its cheaper than I thought and great value. I ordered the Salmon Sandwich and my wife had the Chicken Sandwich. They were lovely when they came out.
After lunch we then had our Spa treatment. The Spa and Gym is not in the same building as the hotel, it is of course in the grounds but just a very short walk down the path to the main building for the complex. Its in a new building and is styled very much the same as the Bannatyne Gyms.
The Spa area is wonderful; staff are very welcoming and lovely. The whole atmosphere just makes you chill out. We had a 1-hour treatment book and we had it in the same room, I had a girl called Sarah and my wife had Trudi-blue, both wonderful girls and was very good at what they do.
I highly recommend anyone to try the Spa at Bannatyne out, it is great value for money with great staff.
After our treatment we went back to the bar for a few drinks then back to our room as we was so chilled out we needed a lay down.
At 7pm we went down for dinner, as that’s when I booked our table and may I recommend that’s a good time to go. The restaurant is situated in the very large conservatory overlooking the formal gardens. Yes it was dark to see much of the gardens but if you do look out some areas are lit up.
We went for the 3 courses meal and trust me we was not disappointed at all.
As you can see my meal came out lovely. It was well presented, very hot and extremely tasty and at a great value. For the environment and setting you are in, makes it that bit more special. The food really is 5 stars, they have a great team and what’s most important is they have a good team in the kitchen.
Our overall stay here was wonderful and it provided us what we set out to do and that’s have a little chill out time for us, sadly this time it was only for one night.
Take a tour of the Spa here in a short video.
The hotel offers far more than I’ve put in this blog other than just your normal stay, they have fantastic facilities for that big special day, Weddings you need to check out there web site for more or contact the Events Team on 01424 857213 or email email@example.com
They also have great Business Facilities and can make your business event a great success, again just check out the site
Overall would we go back? Yes of course, so far we have stayed at this hotel and also last new year we stayed at the Bannatyne Hotel in Darlington. Both are 4 star going on 5 stars.
What next?? Well, Charlton House Spa Hotel of course, to which from what I have seen on the site and from word of mouth its the best of the best. I soon let you know once I’ve been.
Until the next time.
